缅甸中华商务总会第一届正总理
楊逢年和兄长楊逢春一样，出生在霞陽。年少来仰光帮助父亲楊本假料理霞陽楊氏家族生意恒茂号。1906 年楊本假去世后，他接手管理仰光的家族产业。
楊逢年于 1909 年出任缅甸商务总会创会会长。商务总会于 1917 年改名为缅甸中华总商会。
多年后，他回到霞陽，致力于霞陽的家乡事务并成族长。
Yeo Choo Sum, like his brother Yeo Hong Chun, was born in Xiayang.Yeo Choo Sum initially came to Rangoon to help his father Yeo Poon Kay in the Yeo Clan business Heng Moh. After Yeo Pooh Kay died in 1906, he took over the management of the family properties in Rangoon.
Yeo Choo Sum was the Founding president of the General Chinese Trade Affairs Association, in 1909. This was to become the Burma Chinese Chamber of Commerce in 1917.
Years later he returned to Xiayang and became a head of the Yeo clan.
1909年 华商联合报 楊子三 之简介
君名逢年，號子三，福建海澄縣人，以附生入貲為郎。緬甸中華商會之立，即舉君為總理。時 先皇帝德宗景皇帝光緒三十三年也。其明年，乃舉為副理，而以曹君璧如者總之。至今年 今上皇帝宣統元年復舉為總理； 副之者即曹君璧如雲。陳君貽曰：楊君之為人，吾未之知。緬甸中華商會之以此見寄，亦未詳其事實。然以此求之，意必熱心愛國，能不為威武屈而尤能抱其文學經濟奔走海外，以提倡研究我中國人之商業求爭存於商戰而為同僑所推許者於虖。鐘儀南冠見稱左氏漢武之世，卜式以輸財助邊為郎，論者亦多稱之；以君較之或無讓焉。或曰曹君璧如亦熱心愛國者其行事多與君相類。

2. 缅甸商会成立前后即为清末政局动荡之际。 陳君貽行此文为辛亥前夕，字里行间（“不为威武屈”）多少透露海外商会权势动向也未免波涛汹涌。楊子三民国后回返故里，或许受此影响。
