These pages taken out from the Government Gazette in 1913 December acknowledged the donations from various Overseas Chinese to support the new Republic.
Grandfather Yeo Cheow Kaw, in his alias Yeo Soo Seng, and in the name of Gongsi Sit Teik Tong, donated separately at least 1000 dollars. There was a donation of at least 100 dollars from grandmother, as Mrs Yeo Soo Seng. Other donors included Chan Ma Phee and Lim Chin Tsong, each with at least 5000 dollars; Zhang Yong Fu and Koh Ban Pang, each with at least 500 dollars; and at least 100 dollars from Aw Boon Haw with his brother Boon Par, and Mr Yeo Choo Sum, the First President of the General Chinese Trade Affairs Association in Burma.
